An Afternoon Performance with Grant Livingston takes place Sunday, September 21, featuring songs inspired by Florida’s landscapes, wildlife and everyday quirks. Known for blending ragtime, swing, country-blues and folk traditions, Livingston connects each piece to a book in the store while sharing stories about his creative process. His repertoire often touches on armadillos, lionfish, pythons and the challenges of conservation, all delivered with a lighthearted touch.

Recognized by Miami New Times as one of the “Ten Greatest South Florida Folksingers of All Time,” Livingston has performed across the state for decades and was artist-in-residence at Everglades National Park in 2019. The program also includes tips on songwriting and an interactive element where the audience may help create a new piece on the spot.
