Recurring daily
Discover the exuberant and diverse nature of the Deering Estate through the works of Andres Cabrera Garcia, on display in the Garden Room through October 31. Cabrera's Circumscribed Landscapes invites viewers to search for scenes, depicted in the works, during strolls on the museum grounds. The works explore the fleeting moments of beauty and sublimity that nature offers when spending time immersed in it, encouraging a closer and introspective look. They also combine Charles Deering’s favored inclination for painting and the beauty of the natural world as a framework for the built environment, ie. the historic houses.
This exhibit is part of the Deering Estate's Contemporary Currents six month art program, where artists in residence are invited to engage directly with the historic house's collections and setting. Each artist is invited to create new work that functions in dialogue with the narratives of the Deering Estate’s vast and extensive history.
