Grammy-winning Colombian alt-rock icons Aterciopelados will ignite the Knight Concert Hall stage on Saturday, April 20, as part of a major tour commemorating the 28th anniversary of their seminal album El Dorado.
Aterciopelados is led by the dynamic duo of front woman and guitarist Andrea Echeverri and bassist Héctor Buitrago. Considered to be pioneers in the Colombian alt-rock scene, the band played a significant role in shaping the Latin rock movement of the early ‘90s. Among their classic hits are "Florecita Rockera," "Bolero Falaz," "Maligno" and "El Álbum." Throughout their three-decade long career, they've released 11 albums, won three Latin Grammys and received six Grammy Award nominations.
Echeverri and Buitrago have used their platform to convey messages of female empowerment, denounce the country’s violence, promote environmental awareness and advocate for a fairer and more peaceful future.
