Dance NOW! Miami brings its acclaimed work Blue Pencil back to Sanctuary of the Arts for a special encore performance. The event takes place on Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m., following the company’s recent tour of Portugal.
Inspired by the country’s history of government censorship under the Salazar regime, Blue Pencil explores themes of suppression and resistance through a contemporary ballet lens. The performance blends movement and narrative to reflect on the impact of political control over artistic expression.
In addition to the featured work, the program will include selections from Dance NOW! Miami’s repertoire, highlighting audience favorites from the company’s 25-year history.
