Brazilian Voices Concert: Amazonas, the Rhythm of Nature
This event has passed.
Experience a captivating evening of music, art and environmental advocacy on Friday, October 20 when acclaimed female vocal ensemble Brazilian Voices brings AMAZONAS: The Rhythm of Nature to the Sandrell Rivers Theater's stage. This musical tribute spreads awareness on the crucial need to protect our planet's ecosystem including (and foremost) the most important place on Earth and the most threatened, the Amazon rainforest. The show delivers its compelling message with a repertoire of original arrangements performed by Brazilian Voices accompanied by their ensemble of musicians, interactive audience participation on stage and a conservation-themed art exhibit featuring works by Brazilian artists, Clara Piquet and Ernesto Kunde.
For the audience participation component, the show will feature an open stage segment where audience members will get the opportunity to play a variety of percussion instruments. In the gallery lobby, Clara Piquet's paintings of Brazilian indigenous communities and environmental conservation can be viewed alongside Kunde's multimedia works of his tropical surroundings captured on canvas, wood, and aluminum.
AMAZONAS: The Rhythm of Nature is sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and made possible by the Cultural Arts Partnership Program (CAP@SRT), a collaborative initiative by Fantasy Theatre Factory to enhance cultural engagement at the Sandrell Rivers Theater.
