A lecture, performance and cultural celebration come together in an evening honoring Diwali and the legacy of Sanskrit poetry.
Diwali Celebration 2025 takes place Friday, October 17 at Tamiami Hall, presented by the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs. The program features Dr. Subramaniam on the enduring significance of 4th-century poet Kālidāsa, whose works have shaped understandings of literature across centuries and cultures. Following the talk, guests can enjoy a traditional lighting ceremony, Indian food and a classical dance performance in recognition of the festival of lights. This event is free and open to the public.
