Ecotopia: Open Mic Workshop
This event has passed.
Share a 5-minute song, dance, poem, story, performance or spoken word on Saturday, July 29 at Vizcaya Village's Community Open Mic, a dynamic gathering co-hosted by fiber artist Pangea Kali Virga and local poet Nico Hough as part of the Vizcaya's Ecotopia event series. The theme for the Open Mic gathering is community. Fifteen performance slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
During the event, co-host Pangea Kali Virga will note down themes that will be discussed as a collective during the final half-hour of the event. Non-alcoholic beverages, beer and wine, and light bites will be available for purchase courtesy of the Vizcaya Cafe. Attendees are invited to have a photo taken with the performers for the Vizcaya Community Family Album.
While you're there check out the Swap Shop, a community-centered free boutique where you'll find a mix of gently used clothing, accessories, books, art supplies, small home goods, and plants.
Experience an innovative fusion of art and environmentalism at Ecotopia, a series of nine immersive events that encompass various disciplines, from painting to cooking, mending to planting, and more. Guests are invited to explore their creativity through workshops, open mics, a community cookbook and swap shops. The series culminates with the Finale Town Square Festival.
