Jazz at The Betsy: Joonas Haavisto

The Betsy Live Jazz series, the longest-running live music program on Miami Beach, presents pianist Joonas Haavisto on Saturday, September 7. A Steinway artist since 2017, Haavisto has performed as a soloist with chamber orchestras and big bands and leads his group Joonas Haavisto Trio, which released its fifth album Offshore in 2019. The trio has performed worldwide in renowned venues and festivals, including Blue Note Jazz Club New York, Tokyo Jazz Festival and DC Jazz Festival. Haavisto's compositions are a blend of memorable themes with complex rhythmic patterns and sophisticated harmonies.
