July at CAMP: "Untitled: HerStory"
Jul 11, 2025
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Reflecting on the roles and rituals surrounding womanhood, Untitled: HerStory presents a nuanced exploration of marriage through the eyes of two contemporary artists.
Opening Friday, July 11 at The CAMP Gallery in North Miami, this two-person exhibition features the work of Camille Eskell and Fruma Markowitz. Through photography, textiles and mixed media, the artists examine the emotional weight and societal expectations often embedded in the idea of becoming a bride—capturing both the reverence and restraint tied to this cultural milestone.
Camille Eskell, an interdisciplinary artist based in the greater New York area, draws on themes of gender, ritual and familial legacy. Her work is held in several public collections and has been widely exhibited across the U.S., Mexico and South America. Fruma Markowitz, whose photography practice incorporates cyanotype, collage and lumen printing, explores memory and cultural history using alternative photographic processes rooted in time and transformation.
Untitled: HerStory is presented alongside the group exhibition The Eye, The Lens, The Story and remains on view through August 23, 2025. Admission to the opening reception is free and open to the public.
