Prepare to be transported to Cuba's iconic music era, circa 1950s, when legendary afro-cuban singer Freddy (Fredesvinda García) was the star of the show at the Hotel Capri Cabaret. With two performances, one on Saturday, October 21 and the other on Sunday, October 22, La Freddy de Cuba! by De La Cruz Theater takes to the Sandrell Rivers Theater stage for an unforgettable musical theater experience spotlighting the career and music of the Cuban diva of boleros known as Freddy.
Comprised of several acts, La Freddy de Cuba! is the first act of this musical theater experience. Through theatrical and live music performance, each act revisits the music of the era's most renowned Cuban female vocalists.
This performance is part of the Cultural Arts Partnership Program (CAP@SRT), a collaborative initiative by Fantasy Theatre Factory to enhance cultural engagement at the Sandrell Rivers Theater.
