Swamp-bred rock 'n' roll brings raw energy and garage punk rhythms to Gramps. Miranda and the Beat, fresh from their relocation to New Orleans, headlines at Shirley's Theater (inside Gramps) on Sunday, January 26, showcasing material from their sophomore album "Can't Take It," recorded at King Khan's Moon Studios in Berlin.
The evening features local support from South Florida garage punk trio Real People, known for their high-energy performances. Adding to the night's musical curation, Detroit garage rock pioneer Danny Kroha of The Gories will share selections from his collection of vintage 45s, while photographer and musician DJ Moni Musique presents a blend of world dance grooves and rock favorites.
This performance marks Miranda and the Beat's South Florida debut, serving as a homecoming for several band members who originated from West Palm Beach. The show represents a convergence of garage rock veterans and emerging talents, bringing together performers from Detroit, New Orleans, and Miami's music scenes.
