MOAD Makes with Liene Bosquê
Oct 26, 2024
From: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Join the Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) on Saturday, October 26, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus Building 7 for MOAD Makes with Liene Bosquê. Led by multidisciplinary artist and educator Liene Bosquê, this month’s program invites participants to explore Downtown Miami’s landscape and cultural history through a guided walking workshop. Throughout the walk, participants will create clay impressions of the architectural and transient environments they encounter, fostering a deeper connection with the city’s spaces.
The workshop begins at the Wolfson Campus and concludes with a debrief and reflective moment at Soya e Pomodoro in the historic Shoreland Arcade, a structure dating back to 1925 and the last remaining fully intact arcade in Downtown Miami. Liene Bosquê, a recent recipient of the Miami Individual Artists Stipend Program Award, has spent the past decade leading similar walking tours in cities like New York, Chicago, Denver, Miami and São Paulo, Brazil. Her workshops emphasize the importance of architectural details, urban design and the spatial aspects of city life.
Free parking is available for attendees at MDC’s Wolfson Campus, Building 7, which will also serve as the event's meeting place. MOAD's programs are supported by various cultural and arts organizations, including the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the State of Florida, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
