Immerse yourself in an evening of contemporary and historic chamber music in one of Miami's most acoustically rich spaces. Montgomery and Price: Music in Beautiful Spaces, presented by the South Beach Chamber Ensemble, takes place on Sunday, February 2, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Coral Gables.
The program features works by two groundbreaking composers: Jessie Montgomery, an acclaimed contemporary artist known for blending classical and vernacular elements, and Florence Price, a pioneering African-American composer who shaped early twentieth-century American music. The repertoire includes Montgomery's dynamic pieces Break Away and Source Code, alongside Price's emotive String Quartet #2 in A Minor.
The South Beach Chamber Ensemble brings these compositions to life in an architecturally stunning setting that enhances the listening experience. Following the performance, audience members can engage with the musicians during a Q&A session and meet-and-greet.
