Join Grace Arts Florida on Saturday, October 19 at the Main Library in Downtown Miami for afternoon preview of Purvis: Othello of Overtown. This event blends excerpts from Shakespeare’s Othello, performed by award-winning actor Andre Gainey, with live music inspired by African, jazz, southern Spain and Italian opera traditions. The play not only explores Othello’s story but also celebrates the life and artistic legacy of Purvis Young. Attendees are invited to share their own memories of Young during an oral history session following the performance.
