Scholl Lecture Series: Harmonia Rosales

A conversation on art, storytelling and cultural legacy unfolds as Afro-Cuban American painter and author Harmonia Rosales joins former NFL wide receiver and art collector Desmond Howard for the next installment of PAMM’s Scholl Lecture Series.

Rosales will discuss her creative journey and her debut book, Chronicles of Ori: An African Epic, which reimagines Yoruba mythology through vivid narratives and newly revealed works of art. Known for centering Black women and the African diaspora within reinterpreted Western iconography, Rosales brings her perspective as both painter and author to this wide-ranging dialogue with Howard, whose passion for contemporary art has informed his post-football career.

Scholl Lecture Series: Harmonia Rosales with Special Guest Desmond Howard takes place Sunday, November 23 at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). The program includes live translation in American Sign Language, Spanish and Haitian Creole, and will be streamed on PAMM’s YouTube channel. Free with museum admission; seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
