Season Opener: Denève Conducts MTT and Shostakovich
This event has passed.
The New World Symphony ushers in their 2024-25 season with a compelling opening concert led by Artistic Director Stéphane Denève. The program features a moving exploration of resilience with Michael Tilson Thomas' Grammy Award-winning From the Diary of Anne Frank alongside Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, a work composed under the oppressive regime of Stalin. This concert marks the first South Florida performance of From the Diary of Anne Frank in 30 years. Tickets for this performance will be available starting mid-July.
Building on the success of Artistic Director Stéphane Denève’s inaugural season, NWS continues to redefine the orchestral experience while nurturing the growth of emerging classical musicians, a vision set forth by Co-Founder and Artistic Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT).
