Snow Raven: Kut-Sür
This event has passed.
On Thursday, December 12, from 8 p.m. to midnight, experience an immersive Arctic Siberian ceremony at the Scottish Rite Temple with Snow Raven: Kut-Sür. Led by Snow Raven, a renowned artist from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), this ceremonial concert will take you on a sound journey inspired by the shamanic traditions of the northern Sakha people. The evening will explore the concept of "Kut-Sür," which centers around the balance of the human soul, divided into three parts: air, earth and mother soul.
Through a blend of traditional singing techniques, animal sounds and the unique style of arctic beatboxing, Snow Raven will guide participants through the three worlds of Sakha belief—connecting them to ancestral roots, inner exploration and the natural world. The ceremony includes introspective sound experiences, ancestral connections and grounding through movement and song, culminating in a community chant to symbolize collective unity.
Participants are encouraged to bring a talisman and comfortable attire for this transformative journey of self-discovery, music and cultural heritage.
