Dr. Jason Downing shares the latest research and fieldwork on the rare Ghost orchid, drawing from more than a decade of experience in orchid conservation across Florida and beyond. His talk highlights ongoing preservation efforts and the work of the Million Orchid Project, revealing both the scientific breakthroughs and ecological challenges surrounding this legendary species. Guests are also invited to take part in a nature-themed Halloween costume contest to celebrate the season.
Tales of the Ghost Orchid featuring Dr. Jason Downing takes place Wednesday, October 29 at the Miami Beach Woman’s Club. Parking is available in the adjacent lot.
