Experience a night of raw energy as three dynamic bands take the stage. The Creature Cage, The Jump Cuts, 198X comes to Shirley's Theater at Gramps on Saturday, March 22, bringing together a lineup South Florida's underground talent.
Headliners The Creature Cage will ignite the stage with their psych punk garage noise sound that has been evolving since their formation in Broward County. The band has built an impressive discography including four singles, three albums and one EP, with their latest release being the 2023 single Bloodline. Expect an intense, high-voltage set that showcases their experimental edge.
West Palm Beach's The Jump Cuts bring their electrifying indie rock energy to the bill. This four-piece outfit—featuring Max Montana Idas (vocals/guitar), Bronto Montano (bass), Clayton Landry (drums) and Cory Heller (guitar)—delivers sharp, dynamic sounds with infectious rhythms and punchy guitar riffs. Fresh off releasing their debut album What A Fun Way To Kill Some Time on March 1, the band's sound blends modern edge with nostalgic charm. The album, recorded at Shadetree Studio with John Paul Pitts of Surfer Blood and mixed by Mark Watter (who's worked with Alex G and Drug Church), explores themes of heartbreak, rediscovery and personal growth.
Rounding out the lineup is 198X (pronounced "nineteen-eighty-ex"), a garage rock band that emerged from Miami in fall 2015.
