A celebratory program of Bartók and Brahms introduces a new class of Fellows as the New World Symphony begins its season at the New World Center.
Tianyi Lu Conducts Bartók & Brahms takes place Saturday, September 20. The concert opens with Brahms’ exuberant Academic Festival Overture, followed by pianist Lukáš Vondráček performing Bartók’s lyrical Piano Concerto No. 3. The evening concludes with Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, a work of dramatic scope and symphonic mastery. Conducted by Tianyi Lu with NWS Conducting Fellow Ziwei Ma, the performance is offered as part of the orchestra’s pay-what-you-wish series.
