Jun 28, 2025
From: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Discover the hidden intersections of Miami's urban development and natural history on a guided bus tour led by artist Adler Guerrier. This journey explores the stretch of NW 103rd Street, where remnants of the region's original Slash Pine forests still stand amidst the suburban landscape, offering a tangible connection to the area's ecological past.
The event, titled The Last 103rd in NW Miami-Dade, is part of the Weird Miami tour series presented by Bas Fisher Invitational (BFI). It takes place on Saturday, June 28, from 3 to 6 p.m., beginning in the Lummus Park Historic District.
Adler Guerrier, a Haitian-American artist based in Miami, is known for his multidisciplinary work that examines the relationship between place, landscape and identity. His practice often involves exploring urban spaces to uncover layers of social and environmental narratives. Guerrier's work has been featured in exhibitions at institutions such as the Pérez Art Museum Miami and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring water for the duration of the tour. As seating is limited, advance registration is recommended.
