Position Summary
The Event Manager at the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) and its Campus is the nucleus of every event, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of event delivery. As the primary liaison between clients, internal MBCC teams, contract partners, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), and other stakeholders, the Event Manager ensures precision, professionalism, efficiency, and outstanding guest service.

Responsibilities include managing the full event lifecycle—from pre-event planning through post-event analysis—while driving initiatives in sustainability, revenue growth, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned events, from planning through wrap-up.
- Lead pre-planning site visits, pre-conference meetings, and post-event debriefs.
- Ensure compliance with Event License Agreements, policies, and best practices.
- Prepare and distribute event documentation including resumes, work orders, and diagrams.
- Oversee coordination of all venue services and approved event partners.
- Maintain a strong onsite presence to ensure seamless execution and safety compliance.
- Use Momentus (Ungerboeck), Corrigo, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office for event planning and reporting.
- Manage billing, estimates, change orders, and financial reconciliation of events.
- Deliver hospitality-driven client service and champion sustainability initiatives.
- Lead meetings, mentor event coordinators, and collaborate across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in event/convention services, hospitality, or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality-driven event operations and client service models.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Financial acumen in forecasting, billing, and budget tracking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Momentus, AutoCAD, and related systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable.
- Certifications such as CMP, CSEP, PMP, or OSHA 10 are preferred.
