A Day of Art and Celebration

Art, community, and environmental awareness come together in a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserves.

A Day of Art and Celebration takes place Saturday, September 13 at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center. The event features the unveiling of Xavier Cortada’s permanent ceramic Seahorse Mural, launching the Seahorse Society, and offers a final opportunity to view a gallery exhibit of Purvis Young’s iconic paintings. Free and open to the public, the afternoon includes participatory eco-art activities that highlight efforts to protect South Florida’s threatened seagrass meadows.
