A student-led showcase highlights African American contributions to labor and culture through performance, visual art and literary expression.
African American Showcase takes place Tuesday, February 24 at the Miami Dade College Meek Center Atrium, presented as part of Miami Dade College’s Black History Month programming marking the 100th anniversary of the observance. Aligned with the 2026 Black History Month theme, the program centers on the impact of African Americans on labor in the United States and globally, interpreted through creative work by MDC students.
The showcase features poetry readings, spoken word, music and other artistic presentations, alongside elements of visual art, fashion and film. Designed as a multidisciplinary platform, the event emphasizes storytelling, cultural history and contemporary expression through student voices.
