Alacran o la Ceremonia
This event has passed.
Experience an evening of captivating storytelling and flamenco at Alacrán o la ceremonia, featuring José Antonio Lucia, on Saturday, June 15 at the Koubek Center. Presented by CCEMiami and Miami-Dade County Auditorium, this performance is a poignant exploration of love, loss and the complexities of life set against the backdrop of Spanish taverns.
Alacrán, the gypsy protagonist, brings his tale to life with raw emotion, blending the passionate rhythms of flamenco with the haunting echoes of his past. As he mourns his lost love, "La Cangrejo," the audience is drawn into a world where humor and tragedy coexist in a dark, yet absurdly comic dance. The narrative unfolds through Alacrán's nightly encounters with himself, filled with introspection and the soulful cries of flamenco.
As part of the Away From Home Series, "Alacrán o la ceremonia" brings the magic of live performance to the Koubek Center while the Miami-Dade County Auditorium undergoes renovations.
