Join Books & Books for an afternoon exploring the world of Cuban rum through the lens of Arechabala: Azúcar y Ron by Maria Victoria Arechabala Fernandez. On Saturday, October 19, renowned authors Cristina Santamarina and Jorge Duany will delve into the story of the Arechabala family, whose Basque immigrant roots led to the creation of one of Cuba's most iconic rum brands.
From the founding of the company in 1862 to its nationalization in 1959, Arechabala offers a blend of historical narrative, business analysis and cultural insights. The book explores the lives and business ventures of the Arechabala family, the social and political landscape of Cuba and the enduring legacy of their rum-making expertise.
The event will feature a discussion led by the featured experts, followed by a book signing.
