An Evening with Chef Clarice Lam

Join renowned pastry chef Clarice Lam at Books & Books on Friday, December 13 for a special evening discussing her latest cookbook, Breaking Bao: 88 Bakes and Snacks from Asia and Beyond. In this visually striking collection, Lam presents a wide variety of pan-Asian recipes, blending traditional flavors with classical French techniques. Clarice Lam is a celebrated pastry chef with over a decade of experience in the New York City restaurant scene. She has worked at renowned establishments such as Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery and Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Spice Market, and served as the executive chef at The Chocolate Room in Brooklyn. Most notably, Lam was the opening pastry chef at Kimika, named one of Condé Nast Traveler’s best new restaurants in 2021 and a James Beard semifinalist in 2022. Lam has also appeared on popular cooking shows, including Beat Bobby Flay and Best Baker in America, where she was a semifinalist.
