Sobel will discuss her latest work, The Elements of Marie Curie, an illuminating biography of renowned scientist Marie Curie, the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two distinct fields - Physics and Chemistry. The book also highlights the lesser-known story of the women who trained in Curie’s lab and went on to achieve groundbreaking careers in science. Discover how Curie's pioneering work in radioactivity paved the way for countless women in science and continues to inspire generations to this day.
Dava Sobel is a bestselling author known for works like Longitude, Galileo's Daughter and The Planets. She's received numerous awards for her contributions to science writing, including the National Science Board's Individual Public Service Award and the Kumpke-Roberts Award from the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. A former New York Times science reporter, she currently lives on Long Island.
Tickets for this exclusive event are required and include a copy of The Elements of Marie Curie. Each ticket for the event admits two guests.
