An Evening with Norah O'Donnell
Mar 02, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
A public conversation at Miami-Dade College examines overlooked women who helped shape American history through a discussion with journalist and author Norah O’Donnell.
An Evening with Norah O’Donnell takes place Monday, March 2 at the Chapman Conference Center at Miami-Dade College and is presented by Books & Books in partnership with the Miami Book Fair. O’Donnell discusses her book We the Women: The Hidden Heroes Who Shaped America, which reframes U.S. history by foregrounding the contributions of women whose work and resistance influenced the nation from its founding to the present.
Drawing on archival research, historical documents and interviews, the book highlights figures ranging from Mary Katharine Goddard, who printed the first signed Declaration of Independence, to women involved in abolition, suffrage and early military service. The discussion situates these stories within the broader context of American ideals and the long struggle to extend rights promised at the nation’s founding.
Tickets are required for entry and include one copy of We the Women, with each ticket admitting two guests. The program begins at 7 p.m.
