An Evening with Omo Moses
Jan 28, 2025
Starting: 7:00 PM
Join the Books & Books Literary Foundation for an engaging evening with author Omo Moses on Tuesday, January 28, from 7 to 8 PM. Moses will discuss his latest memoir, The White Peril: A Family Memoir, which interlaces his personal journey with the experiences of three generations of the Moses family. The son of legendary civil rights activist Robert P. Moses, Omo reflects on the complexities of becoming Black in America, drawing on his great-grandfather's sermons and his father's powerful writings on racial justice.
In this multigenerational memoir, Moses shares his life story, from his early years in Tanzania to his formative experiences in the U.S., where he came to terms with white supremacy and found his purpose teaching math through his father’s Algebra Project. The conversation promises to delve into themes of identity, family legacy and the ongoing fight for liberation.
This event is free to attend, with books available for purchase at the venue.
