The Books & Books Literary Foundation and University of Miami Hanley Center for Democracy present An Evening with Senator Ron Wyden on Friday, January 31 at the University of Miami's Storer Auditorium.
Senator Wyden will discuss his new book It Takes Chutzpah: How to Fight Fearlessly for Progressive Change, which offers a fresh perspective on achieving progressive goals through unconventional political alliances and bold action. Drawing from his decades of experience in public service, the Oregon Senator shares his 12 Rules of Chutzpah, providing practical strategies for enacting positive change in communities, schools and workplaces.
The son of Nazi Germany refugees and known for his innovative approach to legislation, Senator Wyden explores how the Jewish concept of "chutzpah" can be harnessed to protect key values including healthcare, environmental protection and free speech. His discussion will focus on how individuals and groups can challenge conventional wisdom to chart new pathways for their communities.
This ticketed event admits up to two guests and includes one copy of It Takes Chutzpah ($30 plus tax), which will be distributed upon entry. Advance ticket purchase is required for admission.
