An Evening with U.S. Poet Laureate Arthur Size

Language, memory and the natural world converge in an evening with Arthur Sze, newly appointed U.S. Poet Laureate, presented as part of the Miami Book Fair lineup.

Celebrating the release of his 12th poetry collection, Into the Hush, Sze reflects on the beauty and fragility of life through imagery that moves between the organic and the elemental—fruit trees and gunshots, butterflies and chemistry, the personal and the planetary. His poems confront the tensions of the modern age, from environmental change to cultural loss, while finding moments of stillness and revelation within them.

In this special event, Sze joins poet Campbell McGrath, author of Fever of Unknown Origin, for a conversation moderated by Robert Casper, head of poetry and literature at the Library of Congress.
