Black History Month Concert
Feb 24, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
An evening concert pairs piano and flute music to spotlight lesser-known voices in Black history through classical repertoire and contemporary selections.
Black History Month Concert takes place Tuesday, February 24 at Miami-Dade College’s West Campus in Doral (Room 1102), presented as part of Miami-Dade College’s Black History Month programming marking the 100th anniversary of the observance. The program features musicians Dr. Terri Mitchell and Dr. Alan Ngim alongside MDC’s resident concert musicians, offering a blend of classical and modern works that highlight the cultural and historical contributions of Black composers and artists.
Through curated selections and live performance, the concert invites audiences to engage with musical traditions that have shaped the broader canon while bringing attention to composers and creative voices that are often underrepresented in standard programming.
