A compelling tale of friendship, ambition and artistic pursuit unfolds in this French biographical drama that chronicles the complex relationship between two cultural giants. Cézanne et Moi screens at Coral Gables Art Cinema on Saturday, February 15 at noon, offering audiences an intimate glimpse into the intertwined lives of post-impressionist painter Paul Cézanne and novelist Emile Zola.
The film follows their journey from humble beginnings in Aix-en-Provence to the vibrant art scene of Paris, where their paths begin to diverge. Despite their shared dreams of fame and success, Zola finds himself embracing the bourgeois lifestyle he once criticized, while Cézanne turns away from society to dedicate himself entirely to his craft.
This special screening, presented in celebration of French Month, is made possible through a cultural partnership between the City of Coral Gables and its sister city, Aix-en-Provence. Visitors can enhance their cinematic experience with French-inspired concessions available for purchase. Tickets are $10.
