Experience the exceptional talent of a rising star in classical piano at an intimate afternoon concert. Chopin for All: Nathaniel Zhang takes place on Sunday, March 9 at Granada Church in Coral Gables, as part of the free concert series presented by the Chopin Foundation of the United States.
This performance celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the National Chopin Piano Competition and features 17-year-old Nathaniel Zhang, the 3rd Prize Winner of the 11th National Chopin Piano Competition. A student at the Curtis Institute of Music, Zhang has already established himself as a remarkable young artist, performing with symphony orchestras including Seattle Symphony and Hilton Head Symphony.
The program showcases a comprehensive selection of Chopin compositions, highlighting the composer's diverse musical styles. Attendees will hear the lyrical Barcarolle in F sharp major, technically demanding Études, the dramatic Piano Sonata No. 2 and the emotional Polonaise-Fantaisie, among other works.
Zhang's impressive credentials include winning the MTNA Junior Performance Competition, being named a 2023 National YoungArts Finalist and earning top prizes in multiple international competitions. As a Chopin Foundation Scholarship recipient, he brings both technical mastery and emotional depth to Chopin's challenging repertoire.
