Clean Miami Beach: Global Ocean Cleanup
Jun 14, 2025
From: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Students can contribute to global conservation efforts during a hands-on shoreline cleanup that transforms collected debris into a collaborative art piece. Set along the coast at Baywood Park, this student-focused initiative combines environmental action with creative expression to highlight the impact of plastic pollution.
The Clean Miami Beach: Global Ocean Cleanup takes place Saturday, June 14 and is hosted in partnership with Big Blue & You. This event is part of the Global Ocean Cleanup powered by Oceanic Society—an annual behavior science-based campaign launched in 2022 to reduce ocean plastic through coordinated online and offline action around the world.
Open to students ages 16 and up, the cleanup will provide all necessary materials, including sanitized gloves, buckets, bags and pickers. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and wear reef-safe sun protection. The meeting point is at NE 69th Street in Baywood Park, marked by a turtle flag. Free street parking is available nearby.
Advance registration via Google Form is required. Community service hours are available for on-time participants.
