Clean Miami Beach: July Kayak Island Cleanup
Jul 26, 2025
From: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Paddle into action for a morning of eco-conscious adventure during Clean Miami Beach’s July Kayak Island Cleanup at Maurice Gibb Memorial Park.
On Saturday, July 26, volunteers will kayak out to local islands to help remove trash from sensitive coastal habitats. This in-water cleanup is hosted in partnership with the City of Miami Beach and the Florida Inland Navigation District. Participants can bring their own watercraft or rent a double kayak through Biscayne Bay Paddle Boards & Kayaks. Those renting are asked to arrive by 7:30 a.m., and the first two arrivals will receive a free rental.
Cleanup supplies such as gloves and bags are provided. Participants should wear closed-toe or water shoes, reef-safe sun protection and bring a reusable water bottle. Community service hours are available for on-time attendees. Minors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The kayak launch site is located at Maurice Gibb Memorial Park at 18th Street and Purdy Avenue. Kayak rentals are available at the Biscayne Bay Paddle Boards & Kayaks storefront, located behind 1800 Sunset Harbour Drive, facing the marina.
