Discover a world of cultural traditions through an intimate culinary journey at Books & Books in Coral Gables. The Community Dinner Series returns to Books & Books on Thursday, March 27, featuring a five-course feast crafted by Chef Papo Santiago with special guests Cindy Hutson and Delius Shirley from Ortanique on the Mile.
The evening will feature a carefully curated five-course menu by Chef Papo Santiago, celebrating flavors and traditions of Florida and the Caribbean. Guests can savor dishes like Florida Creamy Conch Chowder with sweet corn and pigeon peas, a refreshing Terrace Salad with local Redland's greens and passionfruit mint vinaigrette, Pescado Encocado featuring Florida snapper in a fresh coconut and key lime broth, Caribbean-spiced Jerk Chicken Penne Pasta and a Local Coconut Tres Leche for dessert. Two-time James Beard Award winner Carlos Frías and conversation curator Jonah Kaplan guide guests through stories of heritage and community as each course unfolds.
Tickets are $70 per person for the meal or $115 per person with a natural wine pairing. Prices are subject to tax and a 20% gratuity. Seating is limited for this intimate community gathering, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. at The Café at Books & Books.
