Creator Talk with Le Clair Obscur
This event has passed.
Delve into the evolving landscape of immersive storytelling with a behind-the-scenes look at hybrid artistic practice led by members of the French arts collective Le Clair Obscur. This in-depth conversation explores how immersive technologies, nonlinear narratives and transdisciplinary collaboration can be used to craft experiences that challenge perception and engage the imagination.
Creator Talk with Le Clair Obscur: Immersive Creation, Transmedia Storytelling, and Hybrid Artistic Practices takes place Saturday, June 28 at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus. Presented as part of FilmGate Fusion and in collaboration with Live Arts Miami, Juggerknot Theatre Company and Villa Albertine, the session features artist and director Frédéric Deslias, joined by actresses Jessica Farr and Marie Heck Mosser, both collaborators on Le Clair Obscur’s full-dome science fiction piece #DRIFT.
Attendees will gain insight into Deslias’ signature approach—blending theater, video, sound and sensor-based interaction—and explore topics including sound spatialization, immersive environments (dome and VR), transmedia logic and creative coding. The event includes a visual walkthrough of Deslias’ recent work, Q&A, and networking over complimentary coffee and refreshments. Designed for creatives and technologists alike, the talk offers a space to reflect on how form, code and narrative can spark poetic and political dialogue about the future of art and society.
