Drum Building Workshop: Make Your Own Tassa Drum

Create your own tassa drum in a unique, hands-on workshop at HistoryMiami Museum on Saturday, October 19. Led by master musician and drum builder Romeo Ragbir, this interactive session guides participants through the process of constructing a tassa drum, a bowl-shaped instrument with roots in India that later spread throughout the Caribbean. After a music demonstration showcasing both traditional and modern styles, participants will build their own tassa from scratch and take it home. This workshop is suitable for beginners and recommended for ages 12 and up. Space is limited, and advanced reservations and payment are required.
