Echos in the Ferns Zine Launch

A zine launch at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden blends personal history, Florida landscapes and hands-on artmaking.

Echos in the Ferns Zine Launch takes place Sunday, September 28, celebrating Michelle Bardino Vela’s new publication inspired by childhood memories, archival photographs and cyanotype imagery tied to South Florida’s natural environment. Attendees can pick up a free copy of the zine and join a collaborative cyanotype workshop using fallen leaves and stems to explore themes of ancestry and place.

Presented by EXILE Projects through its Zine Machine program, the event reflects the nonprofit’s mission to expand access to independent print culture and showcase experimental artist publications. All ages are welcome, and no prior experience is required.
