En Parábola/Conversations on Tragedy
May 31, 2025
Starting: 3:30 PM
Blending classical myth with personal histories, this experimental feature reimagines the story of Antigone through the lens of Puerto Rican diaspora and collective memory. Developed collaboratively with non-professional actors living in New York City, the project fuses theater and film to explore themes of migration, identity and resistance.
En Parábola/Conversations on Tragedy (Part I) screens Saturday, May 31 at the Koubek Center as part of the Third Horizon Film Festival. Directed by Natalia Lassalle-Morillo, the film is presented in English and Spanish with English subtitles. A Q&A with the director will follow the screening. This multi-channel work is the result of a multi-year participatory process and is co-authored with Erica Balleste, Emma Suárez-Báez, Nina Lucía Rodríguez and Raquel Rodríguez.
Natalia Lassalle-Morillo is a Bayamón-born artist and director whose research-based practice reconstructs memory and history through transdisciplinary collaboration.
