Family Fest: The Big Sing
Sep 29, 2024
Starting: 5:00 PM
The Arsht Center's Family Fest series presents The Big Sing, a free community event celebrating music on Sunday, September 29. This family-friendly event features a diverse lineup of musical performances designed to introduce children to the joy of live performing arts.
Enjoy performances by the Miami Children's Chorus, who will sing Latin American pop hits, including the music of Miami icon Gloria Estefan. Encantus Voices, an adult choir, will lead the audience in singing traditional songs from Colombia, Venezuela and other Latin American countries. For a more contemporary sound, Girl Power Rocks will energize the crowd with soulful R&B hits like those of Aretha Franklin.
Everyone will have the opportunity to sing along to the iconic Rise and Shine, composed by Rollo Dilworth and inspired by the timeless melody of This Little Light of Mine. A highlight of the event will be the world premiere of a new choral work written to the text of Amanda Gorman's The Hill We Climb. Commissioned by the Arsht Center and Miami Children's Chorus, this exciting piece by Rollo Dilworth and Maria A. Ellis is not to be missed.
Admission to Family Fest is free. Please note that first-access passes are required to ensure priority seating. These passes can be obtained in advance.
