Jazz vocals, live rhythm section and ensemble harmonies come together in a student performance shaped by Miami’s musical energy. The FIU Jazz Vocal Ensemble performs Monday, November 23 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center as part of the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts 2026-2027 season. Led by FIU jazz faculty member Ashley Pezzotti, the concert features student vocalists in a program spanning standards, bebop, Latin rhythms and contemporary arrangements.
The ensemble pairs tight vocal harmonies with expressive solos and improvisation, highlighting the range of FIU’s jazz vocal training. Presented by the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts, the evening offers audiences a look at emerging jazz singers working within both classic and contemporary repertoire.
