FIU Student Composers Concert

New works by student composers take the stage in a concert bringing together voices, instruments, electronics and video. The FIU Student Composers Concert takes place Thursday, November 19 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center as part of the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts 2026-2027 season. Directed by Orlando J. García, the program features music by composers from FIU and the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
The concert highlights a range of emerging compositional voices, with works written for varied instrumental and vocal combinations. Some selections may also incorporate electronic sound and video, reflecting contemporary approaches to concert music and interdisciplinary performance.
Presented by the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts, the evening offers audiences a look at new music being developed within two South Florida university programs.
