Latin and pop classics come alive when Venezuelan collective Free Cover transforms familiar favorites into high-energy performances. Founded in 2017 by guitarist Alejandro “Neg” Barrera and keyboardist Daniel “Chompa” Bracho, the group began by reimagining beloved hits with passionate, honest renditions, what they call “putting new clothes on songs that already made history.” Over time, Free Cover has grown into a cultural touchstone for the Venezuelan diaspora, connecting communities through music, memory and celebration.
Free Cover takes the stage at the James L. Knight Center on Friday, November 14. The concert features a star-studded lineup including Los Amigos Invisibles, the Grammy-winning Venezuelan funk-fusion band, alongside Carlos Baute, Los Rabanes, Luis F. Borjas, Magic Juan, Alejandro Palacio and Diveana.
