A blend of samba, jazz and Brazilian big band tradition takes the spotlight as Gafieira Rio Miami returns to Faena Theater for a live performance on Sunday, July 27. Led by Latin GRAMMY-winning bassist Diogo Brown, the 11-piece ensemble features vocalist Isa Duarte, dynamic horn arrangements and samba de gafieira-inspired rhythms.
The concert includes a guest appearance by Latin GRAMMY-winning flutist Nestor Torres, along with dancers who highlight the energy and elegance of Brazilian ballroom styles. Recognized by NPR as “a revival of big band samba,” Gafieira Rio Miami offers a contemporary take on classic sounds in an evening of music and movement.
