This event has passed.
View the unveiling of Haiti in the Heartland, an outdoor exhibit showcasing the beauty and depth of Haitian art, on Friday, November 1, at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. Curated by Chawne Paige of the Waterloo Center for the Arts and Petrouchka LL. Moïse of Grinnell College, this exhibit highlights pieces from the Waterloo Center for the Arts’ distinguished collection of over 2,000 Haitian artworks. Originating in 1977 as a gift from Dr. and Mrs. F. Harold Reuling, this collection now represents more than five decades of Haitian artistic expression, featuring vivid works by masters like Gérard Valcin and Rigaud Benoit. Supported by the Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance and the Haitian Art Digital Crossroads project, the event includes an opening reception and remarks, offering the Miami community a unique view into the heart of Haitian artistry. Free and open to the public.
