Harvesting Hope: A Dialogue on Agriculture and Integral Ecology
This event has passed.
Experience the intersection of sustainable agriculture and climate action at Barry University during Miami Climate Week. The Harvesting Hope event, taking place on Thursday, March 27, offers an engaging dialogue on agriculture and integral ecology, complete with direct-trade coffee and chocolate tasting.
This free panel discussion brings together representatives from the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), the Cafèière et Cacaouyère du Nord Ouest (COCANO) Coffee/Cacao Cooperative in partnership with the Miami/Port-de-Paix Global Solidarity Partnership and Exquisito Chocolates, Miami's original bean-to-bar chocolate company. Together, they will explore how sustainable agricultural practices can address climate change while promoting social justice.
Moderated by Courtney Berrien, Director of the Adrian Dominican Institute for Mission and Leadership at Barry University, the event provides opportunities to learn about integral ecology and engage with consumer-driven social change movements. Attendees will gain insights into innovative practices transforming our relationship with the earth, food systems and agricultural labor.
