Here & Now

From September 19 to 21, the Miami Theater Center will host Here & Now 2024, Miami Light Project’s signature commission program for Miami-based artists. This annual showcase features innovative work by emerging and mid-career artists across various disciplines.

The program includes Arielle Francois’s Where You Waited for Me, a multimedia dance performance celebrating Afro-American and Afro-Caribbean culture through Catherine Flon’s legacy. Junior Domingos presents Amalgam, a dance theater piece that blends Capoeira and Samba with contemporary movement. Lisa Kusanagi and Osmani Tellez’s PINKY PROMISES offers a playful exploration of relationships, while A Flower In the Swamp by Our Human Years combines music, visuals and storytelling to celebrate nature and ancestry.
